Fun Primary Singing Time Idea: Smash the Bug Song Choosing Activity

Fun Primary Singing Time Idea: Smash the Bug,

This month, I've been able to sub as music leader in a couple ward's Primaries (I serve in our Stake Primary Presidency, so when a primary needs some help & is short handed, we love to be there to help them. Plus, I 've subbed a couple times in my own ward). Is there anything greater than listening to Primary children sing their testimonies of Christ and the gospel?!?

A Super Fun Activity for Singing Time, with Printables! Punch it Activity,

I'm finally getting around to posting about this!! Around a year ago our Stake and Wards were reorganized. Actually, a whole new stake was created and three stakes were reorganized. We were put into that new stake and joined a new ward. While callings were being filled, the bishop asked me to cover singing time in primary for a few weeks. I gladly accepted. One of the week's we did this fun activity to help the primary children review the songs they had been learning that year.

How to Teach the Gospel through Music in Primary

We recently had our Stake Primary training. My current calling is the Stake Primary Music Leader, which has been a little bit of a stretch for me and has afforded me some amazing opportunities. In our stake, the music leader is included in the stake primary presidency activities. I attend the meetings help with and speak at the stake baptisms, visit the wards, etc.

Shake, Shake, Shake Maracas...Homemade Maracas!

My son's class had a fun FIESTA party!!  My job was coming up with a craft to do. After scouring the internet for ideas I came upon some cute maracas.  There were several different ways to make them.  I needed an idea that I could do for over 130 kiddos in 20 minutes of time.  Here is what I came up with:

LDS General Conference Preparation and Printables

I get so excited every time the first of April and the first of October roll around. Because that means, I get to be instructed by the prophet and his apostles and leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It also means I can receive personal revelation myself as I listen and ponder their words.

I thought I would share some ideas on preparation and some printables that can help keep the kiddos engaged.

If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things” (Articles of Faith 1:13).

2014 LDS Primary Program Song Review Printable

My music leader is vacationing, as well as everyone she called to sub. So, I told her I would go ahead and just do singing time for her. It is getting close to program time, so I thought I would do something having to do with building our eternal family, since the theme is "Families Are Forever".

Here is the pdf to the printable I am using.  It is a home.
