LDS Primary Teacher Training/Orientation and Handouts

I thought I would share some of the handouts and ideas that I found worked out great when doing a teacher orientation/training for primary.

At our teacher training meetings we usually discussed the two handouts below.  It is important that everyone is on the same page with what is expected.  The other thing I loved to do was open up the time for any questions and for some ideas and suggestions.  It is great to gather ideas from each other, this was always my favorite part because we were really able to focus on the needs of our primary children and their teachers.

Great to Be Eight Ideas and Printables

I am a big advocate of having a Baptism Preview or "Great to Be Eight".  It is a great way to get the kids excited about their baptism and to help inform them and their parents about what to expect and how to prepare. I've done a few programs and have been involved in a couple others. Here is what we've done...

LDS Primary Aged Child Baptism Ideas

One of my favorite things when I was Primary President was the baptisms! I loved interviewing the primary children and looked forward to attend their baptisms.  I meant to post this a while ago before I was released, but times get busy.

Here are some ideas and free printables I used:

Shake, Shake, Shake Maracas...Homemade Maracas!

My son's class had a fun FIESTA party!!  My job was coming up with a craft to do. After scouring the internet for ideas I came upon some cute maracas.  There were several different ways to make them.  I needed an idea that I could do for over 130 kiddos in 20 minutes of time.  Here is what I came up with:

2015 Young Women Binder Printables

It seems like what ever calling I have I love to have a binder to keep all of my papers organized in.  Here are some of the printables I used for my Young Women binder. I also made a little binder for each of the Young Women in my class presidency. I used a three pronged folder and put the papers in them. They will bring them to our meetings.  I made these when I was put in, but have just now found the time to share them on here.  Feel free to use them :)  I also send an email to the young women and their parents each month, with a calendar and important info in it.

Thank You Gift Idea and Free Tags Printable

When I was released from primary I really wanted to give the women who worked with me in the presidency a little something to tell them thank you for all of their hard work and love for the children.  I found these notebooks at Walmart, they have such a cute design. So I made these little thank you tags to go with them.  Really these thank you tags could be used on any thank you gift.

Getting to Know You Dice Game Printable

With starting the year or getting called into a new calling it is fun and nice to get to know each other in the class.  I came up with the little game a couple months ago when I was called to Young Women. We used it at one of our class activities.  It was a fun way to get to know each other!

Here is the printable:

I kept track of the answers to the questions on the right side of the paper.  We actually used this to help us plan our activities for the year.
