Come, Follow Me 2021 Doctrine and Covenants 84 Resources and Insights,

Last week, we are learned about how we can apply the scriptures into our own lives. That we can be faithful in doing all that the Lord asks of us to do. Including repenting, keeping the commandments and providing for the orphans and widows.

This week we are learning about, how we can have access to God's priesthood power and blessings. That as we listen to the Lord's words we come more unto Him and He will be with us as we are in His service.

Throughout this blog post you will find images I create daily, which I am offering as free printables. As well as insights and links to resources to help with individual, family and even class room study. Remember to check back throughout the week as more printables and resources are added daily.

Day 1:

I love this explanation of God’s priesthood power ♥️ Covenants with God and faith in Him gives us access to the blessings of God’s priesthood power in our lives!!

If you haven’t read section 3.5 & 3.6 in the church’s General Handbook, I encourage you to do so. In it it explains, “The blessings of priesthood power that members can receive include:

- Guidance for their lives.

-Inspiration to know how to serve family members and others.

-Strength to endure and overcome challenges.

-Gifts of the Spirit to magnify their abilities.

-Revelation to know how to fulfill the work they are ordained, set apart, or assigned to do.

-Help and strength to become more like Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father.”

I am so grateful for those blessings of the priesthood!! I can’t imagine my life without the guidance and inspiration of the spirit, which was conferred upon me after I was baptized!! It is such a precious gift that I truly do cherish!!

Tomorrow, I think we’ll talk a little bit about priesthood authority! I love both of these topics and I’m excited that we get to ponder on the priesthood & study D&C 84 this week 😊

How have you seen these blessings manifested in your life?

General Handbook: Priesthood Power 3.5

Day 2:

o, let’s talk about Priesthood Authority!! I am grateful for the instructions that the handbook gives us about the priesthood, including this definition about priesthood authority! “Priesthood authority is the authorization to represent God and act in His name. In the Church, all priesthood authority is exercised under the direction of those who hold priesthood keys.”

I love that as we are set apart in our callings, we are “given divine authority and responsibility to act” in our callings!

How important it is to remember that we are representing God as we serve. I also, think it’s important that the Lord is with us as we serve Him, to help us where we feel inadequate. I know that at times I have felt completely inadequate! One such time was when I was called to be the Stake Primary music leader and I was asked to have a primary choir and lead them for Stake Conference. I felt so inadequate!! I had to lean heavily upon that fact I had been set apart and the faith I have in our Savior to make weak things strengths. And I prayed a lot. It went well and the spirit was felt & I was so grateful for Heavenly help!

Take a moment & read through the section of Priesthood Authority in the handbook! Here’s the link: General Handbook scroll down to 3.4 Priesthood Authority.

Day 3:

Since the kids have been home & my husband got injured & has been home, I have not had much time to be alone and to sit and be still. So tonight, after everyone went to bed, I decided I need some of that time to just sit and be still.

Time to pray, time to think and time to listen. Life can get so chaotic at times. There are things pulling at our time and attention at every angle.

I am certain that listening to the Lord and his servants is essential in these latter days. Tonight, as a family we were discussing listening to the Lord’s servants. I encouraged each family member to choose one talk from April’s General conference to read and think about this week. I also love that we have monthly church magazines with messages from the Lord’s servants, as well as, messages that they share on social media. There has never been a time where we have messages from the prophet, apostles and church leaders, so readily available to us at all times! That is a blessing of technology, one that we really should be taking advantage of!!

What is a recent message from the Lord’s servants that stands out to you? Share in the comments, so we can uplift & inspire each other ♥️

Day 4:

My hubby said something tonight, that I think is so important and that is reiterated here in this scripture!! He said, that the spirit will help us know if something is good to do or not, but we have to be listening for the Holy Ghost.

I believe that Holy Ghost is there to teach us, to inspire us, to witness truth to us, & so much more, but we have to be open to his influence. We need to choose to hearken to his voice.

I’ve always loved this scripture. I love it because it states that the spirit gives light to everyone who comes into this world. I know that our Heavenly Father loves all of His children!! He wants us to not just have the light, but access the power that comes from listening and following the Holy Ghost! That is why he wants us to receive His gift to us of confirmation of the Holy Ghost, to be our constant companion. I hold this gift as being so precious in my life!! I’m grateful for that light and his influence through my day!

Day 5:

As I was playing the Ukulele tonight, the lyrics to “As Sisters in Zion”, stood out to me. We had just had a discussion as a family about serving the Lord & how he will help us. The 3rd verse, just popped out at me & I knew I’d share it tonight. It says, “How vast is our purpose, how broad is our mission,
If we but fulfill it in spirit and deed.
Oh, naught but the Spirit’s divinest tuition
Can give us the wisdom to truly succeed.”

What helps us succeed in our mission of participating in the Lord’s work?? It is the Holy Ghost ♥️ It is through him that the Lord prompts us and inspires us to do His work. As we put forth our efforts, the Lord magnifies them! I have felt of that magnification, power & strength that the Lord provides as I have served!! It’s real, we just need to have faith and put forth the effort and serve the Lord & those around us!

DAY 6:

Why were we sent to this earth into families? Families are important to not only our mortal life, but our eternal life as well!

Today, the prompt that I shared from the Come, Follow Me manual, was, “How is our family “edified together” by the gifts and efforts of “every member”?”

To me this means that each family member is important. Each family member has talents, gifts and abilities that can be used to strengthen and edify the family. It was great to take a little bit of time tonight to ponder on what those might be for each family member! 💕

One reason I think we were born into families, is to help each other not only endure this mortal life, but to grow, flourish and enjoy life. We learn from each other, we support each other and yes, even gain patience. If you really think of the Christlike attributes that we are striving to develop, the best place to develop those is with in our own home and with our family members.

Another wonderful blessing that our Father has given us is the opportunity to be sealed together as families for all eternity. My covenants that I have made with my husband and Heavenly Father I hold dear to my heart and take very seriously! I want to be with my family forever, so to me it is very important that I strive to keep my covenants and live worthy of such blessings!!

I loved this topic tonight & would love to spend more time with my family, pondering on how we can edify each other within our home!
