2018 Primary Sharing Time Ideas for March Week 1: Jesus Christ taught the gospel and set an example for us.

Ideas for March Week 1 LDS Primary Sharing Time,

2018 Sharing Time Outline Theme: I am a Child of God

March 2018 Sharing Time Topic: Jesus Christ Is Our Savior

March 2018 Song: “If the Savior Stood Beside Me” (page 28 in sharing time outline)

March Week 1 Topic: Jesus Christ taught the gospel and set an example for us.

Preparation:

Prayerfully study and think about what the specific needs of your primary are and how you can teach them this doctrine. The most important thing is to love those you teach and to teach them by the Spirit!! Focus on building their testimonies and helping them come unto Christ!  (All printables for this sharing time can be found and printed by clicking the "Free Printable Download" button. They are free and can be printed and used for personal and church purposes)

Sharing Time Instruction:

Before, primary using a picture of the Savior (you could print one out on card stock from here), turn it into a puzzle. (To do this just cut the picture into wavy pieces) Tape the pieces to the bottom of some of the primary children's chairs.

To begin primary explain to the primary children that Heavenly Father loves us so much that he has provided us with the perfect example. Invite the primary children to look under their chairs to find out who this person is. Invite the primary children with the puzzle pieces to come up.

Have the children put the puzzle together. When it is complete ask the primary children who our example is? It is Jesus Christ.

Show the primary children the week's theme poster and invite them to repeat, "Jesus Christ taught the gospel and set an example to us."

Explain that we are going to discuss, some way's Jesus taught us about the gospel through his example.

Randomly place the following pictures on the board:  (Picture) Sermon on the Mount(Picture) Jesus Washing the Apostles Feet(Picture) John the Baptist Baptizing Jesus(Picture) Jesus Praying with his mother(Picture) In Rememberance of Me(Picture) Jesus and His Mother.

In a basket have some plastic Easter eggs. Inside of the eggs place the scripture word strips. (You could also hide the eggs throughout the room and you could have the primary kids find them).

Invite a primary child come up and choose an egg. Read the scripture that is in the egg and invite the primary child to find the picture that goes with the scripture. Discuss as a primary what is was that Jesus taught us and then how they can follow the Savior's example in their own lives.

For example: if the egg chosen had the scripture, Mark 16:15 the matching picture would be of the Savior teaching to the crowd in the Sermon on the Mount. What the Savior taught us, is to teach the gospel to others. He taught the gospel from an early age and continued throughout his life, teaching the gospel to everyone he came in contact with. How can we follow His example??? We can also teach the gospel. We do this as we participate in Family Home Evening and in Primary. When we invite our friends to cub scouts and activities. As we talk about the gospel everyday.

Continue with each egg (scripture) until everything has been discussed or time runs out.

Share your testimony of the Savior's example and how we can use it to teach the gospel to others.
