Come, Follow Me 2021 Doctrine and Covenants 64-66 Resources and Insights

Come, Follow Me 2021 Doctrine and Covenants 64-66 Resources and Insights,

This week, we will be studying about the importance of forgiveness! We will also study about the importance of having a willing mind and heart and our part in preparing the way for the Lord.

Last week, we will be learning about how more is needed to secure our faith then seeing signs or miracles. We learned about how important the law of chastity and how the Lord directs both our spiritual and temporal needs.

Throughout this blog post you will find images I create daily, which I am offering as free printables. As well as insights and links to resources to help with individual, family and even class room study. Remember to check back throughout the week as more printables and resources are added daily.

Day 1:

As we started to discuss this week’s study as a family, I saw this quote and I loved it!!

I’ve found this to be very true in my life, each time I read the scriptures, I get out of them what I need at the time. The answers I need, the guidance I need & the inspiration I need. Even sometimes the reprimand I need.

I have the hugest testimony of the scriptures and that we can receive personal revelation as we read and study them.

I feel like, when we are prayerful and ask our Heavenly Father specific questions before we read, then we prepare ourselves, to receive the guidance and instructions He has for us!!

A little while back, I spoke at a ward’s Relief Society activity. Beforehand, I had randomly taped scripture cards to the bottom of the chairs they would be sitting on. Then, I invited them to read those scriptures and to ponder over them for a minute and then write down what that scripture meant to them, what stands out to them as they read it? How can they apply it into their lives? I loved the things that some of the women shared. Those randomly passed out scriptures, had very personal meaning to them!

I know that our Father, knows us and loves us. He knows what we are going through in our lives. He knows what we need help with & He so desires us to spend time in the scriptures. To turn to Him & then seek answers ♥️

Day 2:

We have so many things to spend our energy on everyday, that holding onto grudges, hurt, anger, vengeance, all need to be let go of. Forgiveness is freeing!

Sometimes. forgiveness can be so hard & that is why it’s essential that we include our Savior in the forgiveness process! Part of the atonement is that all things will one day be made right. The Savior can help us feel peace & our hearts can be softened as we pray for help & as we pray for the person who has given us offense.

I am grateful that the Lord teaches us to forgive, that He set the example and that He is there to help us! We can not control others actions, but we have control over freeing ourselves of negative weighty feelings. We can forgive, we can forgive freely and we can have the Lord’s help.

Here’s that great talk by Elder Holland:

Day 3:

How powerful is our heart?!? If you think about it, physically it pumps blood to the whole body. Emotionally and action speaking, when we give our whole heart, then we are putting forth our best efforts, we are all in. Our mind and our heart are two very powerful things!

I’m D&C 64:33, the Lord tells us, “Be not weary in well-doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is great.”

Sometimes, in life we might feel overwhelmed with all that we have to or need to do. I find myself, thinking, “when such and such is over, then things will not be so crazy”. But in all actuality, the craziness never really slows down. Our time and energies are always needed somewhere. I do think that as we turn to the Lord He will help us to know where that time and energy is needed. I think He will also help us accomplish that which we need to do. The important thing is that our focus is on Him. That we are serving Him with all our heart, might, mind and strength. Which includes when we are serving and providing for our families, serving in our callings, ministering/serving our neighbor, and doing good. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, take some deep breaths, think of your “why”behind what you are doing, and involve the Lord ♥️
