Ideas for October Week 3 LDS Primary Sharing Time,

2017 Sharing Time Outline Theme: Choose the Right

October 2017 Sharing Time Topic: Blessings of the Priesthood Are Available to All

October 2017 Scripture: “And also all they who receive this priesthood receive me, saith the Lord” (D&C 84:35).

October 2017 Song: Your Choice

October Week 3 Topic: I can receive strengthening power through priesthood blessings.

Preparation:

Prayerfully study and think about what the specific needs of your primary are and how you can teach them this doctrine. The most important thing is to love those you teach and to teach them by the Spirit!! Focus on building their testimonies and helping them come unto Christ!  (All printables for this sharing time can be found and printed by clicking the "Free Printable Download" button. They are free and can be printed and used for personal and church purposes)

Sharing Time Instruction:

Begin the Sharing Time by showing the primary children the picture of Jesus blessing the little children. Explain that Jesus loves all of us so much. Explain that Jesus holds all of the keys to the priesthood. Read these two verses of the Savior blessing the Nephite Children:

"11 And it came to pass that he commanded that their alittle children should be brought.

12 So they brought their little children and set them down upon the ground round about him, and Jesus stood in the midst; and the multitude gave way till they had all been brought unto him." - 3 Nephi 17:11-12

Show the primary children the week's theme poster and invite them to repeat, "I can receive strengthening power through priesthood blessings."

Further explain that just like these children in the picture we can receive strengthening power through priesthood blessings.

Show the primary children the pictures of the restoration of the Aaronic and Melchizedek priesthoods. Explain that first John the baptist came and restored the Aaronic priesthood to the world through the prophet Joseph Smith. Then Peter, James and John, came and restored the Melchizedek priesthood to the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith.

Because the priesthood has been restored we can receive strengthening power through priesthood blessings.

Let's talk about some of these priesthood blessings and how you have been strengthened by them.

Give the primary children the printable from below. Invite them to write or color in each box, how they have been strengthened and blessed from these priesthood blessings.

Images in the printable are from Media Library Primary Symbols

For the little Sunbeams and even CTR 4 you could given them the color page and invite them to color it and think about the priesthood blessings.

When they are done. Show a picture of :

Baby Blessing and invite the primary children to share their thoughts and feelings of how their life has been blessed and strengthened by this priesthood blessing. You many have to start off by sharing a way you have received strengthening power, through the priesthood blessing.

Baptism and invite the primary children to share their thoughts and feelings of how their life has been blessed and strengthened by this priesthood blessing.

Confirmation and invite the primary children to share their thoughts and feelings of how their life has been blessed and strengthened by this priesthood blessing.

Sacrament and invite the primary children to share their thoughts and feelings of how their life has been blessed and strengthened by this priesthood blessing.

Other Blessings such as a Father's Blessing and invite the primary children to share their thoughts and feelings of how their life has been blessed and strengthened by this priesthood blessing.

Close by inviting the primary children to look for times in their lives that they are strengthened through the priesthood.
