Preparation:
Prayerfully study and think about what the specific needs of your primary are and how you can teach them this doctrine.

Sharing Time Instruction:

Invite the primary children to help memorize The First Article of Faith with you.  Invite three primary children to come up and help you.  Invite the first primary child to hold the picture of Heavenly Father and Jesus (on this picture draw an arrow pointing to Heavenly Father with the wording, Heavenly Father).  Invite the primary children to say, "We believe in God, the Eternal Father,".  Invite them to say this a couple times.  Discuss with the children what they believe about God.

Next invite the second child to hold the picture of Jesus Christ.  Invite the primary children to say, "and in His Son, Jesus Christ," Invite them to say this a couple times. Invite the primary children to share what they believe about Jesus Christ.

Next invite the third child to hold the picture that says, "The Holy Ghost".  Invite the primary children to say, "and in the Holy Ghost."  Invite the primary children to say this a couple of time. Invite the primary children to share what they believe about the Holy Ghost.

Invite the primary children to say the whole Article of Faith, using the pictures as help.

Read Doctrine and Covenants 130:22.  Discuss with the children that Heavenly Father, has a body of flesh and bones. So does His Son, Jesus Christ.  Invite them to tell you what the Holy Ghost has... (He does not have a body of flesh and bones. He is a spirit)  Ask the primary children why the Holy Ghost is a spirit and does not have a body of flesh and bones?  (So he can dwell in us)

Ask the primary children to share with you some ways that the Spirit communicates with us.  Show the primary children the picture of the heart. Explain that sometimes we will get a warm feeling in our heart. This is the Holy Ghost testifying to us that something is good and true.  Share an experience when you have felt the Holy Ghost in your heart. Invite the primary children to share examples of when they have felt the Holy Ghost.  Show the picture of the mind.  Explain that sometimes a thought will come to our mind, or we might even hear the Holy Ghost speak to us.  Share an experience when you have experienced the Holy Ghost this way. Invite the primary children to also share their experiences.

Place the following items with the following tags on each item, in a bag: Small blanket (Comforts Us); Book of Mormon, (Teaches us); Compass (Tells us what we should do); Picture of a Heart (Changes our Hearts); A Full Water Bottle (Fills us with Hope and Love); Warning Sing (Warns  us); and a picture of the Savior (Testifies of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ). On the front of the bag, write or place the printable, "How the Holy Ghost Helps Us".

Invite a primary child one at a time to come up and pick an item out of the bag. Discuss as a primary how the Holy Ghost fulfills those roles.

Close by sharing your testimony and inviting the primary children to live so they can have the influence of the Holy Ghost in their lives.
