2018 Primary Sharing Time Ideas for June Week 1:. I will follow Jesus Christ by being baptized and confirmed and keeping my baptismal covenants

Ideas for June Week 1 LDS Primary Sharing Time,

2018 Sharing Time Outline Theme: I am a Child of God

June 2018 Song: Song: “When I Am Baptized”

Preparation:

Prayerfully study and think about what the specific needs of your primary are and how you can teach them this doctrine. The most important thing is to love those you teach and to teach them by the Spirit!! Focus on building their testimonies and helping them come unto Christ!  (All printables for this sharing time can be found and printed by clicking the "Free Printable Download" button. They are free and can be printed and used for personal and church purposes)

Sharing Time Instruction:

Begin Sharing time by showing the primary children the Week's theme poster and inviting them to repeat, "I will follow Jesus Christ by being baptized and confirmed and keeping my baptismal covenants."

Show the primary children the picture of the Savior being baptized. Ask them to tell you about the picture. Explain that even though Jesus was perfect, he was baptized as an example to us. We can follow Jesus by being baptized and confirmed and by keeping those covenants we make with Heavenly Father at baptism.

Place the following footprints on the board. Explain that our Heavenly Father loves us so much and wants us to return to live with Him. There are some necessary steps in our Heavenly Father's plan. One of those steps is to be baptized and confirmed, as our Savior was. The other is to keep those covenants we have made with our Heavenly Father at our baptism.

Explain that around the room are some footsteps, explain that we are going to do a little activity. Primary children are going to be invite one at a time to go and find one of the footprints, then they will put it under the foot print that it goes with. We will read what it says and discuss it.

For example if a primary children chose the foot print, "8 years old", they would place it under the "Being baptized and Confirmed" footprint and then you would discuss with the primary children that we can be baptized when we reach the age of accountability or any age after that. Explain that the Lord has revealed that that age is 8 years old, "And their children shall be baptized for the remission of their sins when eight years old, and receive the laying on of the hands." (D&C 68:27)

Find and discuss one footprint at a time.

When you are finished, share your testimony of baptism and confirmation and keeping our baptismal covenants.
