2016 Sharing Time Outline Theme: "I Know the Scriptures Are True"

September 2016 Sharing Time Topic: The Gospel Will Be Preached in All the World

September 2016 Scripture: “This gospel shall be preached unto every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people” (D&C 133:37).

September 2016 Song: Your Choice (Review for Program)

September Week 3 Topic: I can prepare now to serve a mission.

Preparation:

Prayerfully study and think about what the specific needs of your primary are and how you can teach them this doctrine.

Sharing Time Instruction:

On the floor or on the board place the letters "P" "R" "E" "P" "A" "R" "E" , in random order. Explain that the letter will form a word that will help them be great missionaries. Invite 7 primary kids to come up and try to put the letters in order. When it is in order, read the word out loud to the primary children. Ask them what the word "prepare" means? Ask them how "preparing" to serve a mission can help them be good missionaries.

Show the primary children the week's theme poster and invite them to repeat, "I can prepare now to serve a mission"

Explain to the primary children that they have entered the Missionary Preparation Center. Further explain that at home, at school and at church, everywhere they can be preparing for their missions.

In the front of the room on a table have the following items with the coordinating tags, a set of scriptures (Scripture Study), a picture of a child praying (Pray often to Heavenly Father), a picture of a church building (Come to church to partake of sacrament and learn the gospel), FHE Family (Learn the gospel at home in FHE), Picture of friends (Learn how to be a good friend), CTR sign (Live worthy by choosing the right),  garden glove or some other item to represent working (Learn how to work and do hard things), money (Save for your mission and learn how to manage money). Explain to the primary children that part of preparing to be a missionary is learning how to teach others.

Further explain that on the table are items that represent ways they can prepare to serve a mission. Invite a member from each class to come up and choose an item. Have them return to their class and discuss with their class the item and how it can help them prepare for their missions. Give them a few minutes to do so. Then invite one group at a time to come up and teach the rest of the primary how their item can help them to prepare for their missions. Continue with each class. If their are remaining items you could discuss those with the primary if their is time.  If you have a smaller primary, just discuss each item as a group, encourage the primary children to share their thoughts on how they can prepare for their missions.

Conclude by sharing your testimony on the importance of preparing right now in their lives for their missions.
