2015 Sharing Time Outline Theme: "I Know My Savior Lives"

September 2015 Sharing Time Topic: I Obey Jesus Christ Because I Love Him

September 2015 Scripture: “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15).

September Week 2 Topic:  I show love for Jesus Christ when I keep the commandments.

Free Printables: (Printing Tip: Click on image to open and then save image to your computer.  You can then print the image from your computer.)

Print two of these

Print one of these

Print this on the back of one of the full page heart apples

Print this on the back of the other full page heart apple

Print this on the back of the page that only has one heart apple.

Preparation:
Prayerfully study and think about what the specific needs of your primary are and how you can teach them this doctrine.

Sharing Time Instruction:
Show the primary children a "Faith in God Booklet". Explain that on the back of the booklet is the "My Gospel Standards", further explain that like the 10 commandments these are guidelines that can help keep us on the track to growing closer to our Heavenly Father. When we follow the "My Gospel Standards" then we show our love for our Heavenly Father and Jesus. Have a poster with the "My Gospel Standards", where the children can see them or give each class a copy of the My Gospel Standards printable above.

On the Chalk board draw a large tree.  Here is an example:

Or

On the large tree, tape or magnet onto the board the "My Gospel Standards Heart Apples"  Invite a primary child to come up and pick one of the heart apples.  On the back there will be one of the My Gospel Standards.  Invite the child to read the standard quietly to themselves so no one can hear and then have them draw a picture about the standard. Invite the rest of the primary to guess what standard it could be that they drew. Discuss ways the primary children can obey that standard and show love for the Savior.  Continue with each "heart apple".

Close by sharing your testimony.
