Preparation:
Prayerfully study and think about what the specific needs of your primary are and how you can teach them this doctrine.

Sharing Time Instruction:

Week 3 and 4 topic are the same. So for week 3 the focus will be more about Heavenly Father's love and then week 4 will be more about the love Jesus Christ has for us.

Begin sharing time by explaining to the children that their is someone who loves them so much. Invite them to listen to some clues and stand up when they know who it is. Explain that they have known Him since they were a spirit. Explain that He directed the creation of the world. Explain that we can communicate to Him through prayer. Explain that He loves us so much that He sent His son to earth to atone for us and die for us. Explain that His purpose is to help us to return to live in His presence.  Invite the children who are standing to say who it is who loves them so much, "Heavenly Father"  Place the poster "Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ Love Me".  Invite the children to repeat the phrase with you. Explain that for the next two weeks they will be learning in sharing time about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ's love for them.  This Sunday they are going to focus on Heavenly Father's love for them.  Invite the children to sing the song, “My Heavenly Father Loves Me” (CS, 228–29).  When they are done singing the song invite one child at a time to come up and draw something that the song says about how we know Heavenly Father loves us, until everything in the song has been drawn.  (Bird, Sky, Rain, Wind, Rose, lilac tree, beautiful world, eyes, ears, my life, my mind, my heart"  Invite the children to share other ways they know that Heavenly Father loves them.  Write the things they say on the board. Explain that we can feel more of His love as we pray to Him and read our scriptures. Invite the children to pray each day to Heavenly Father thanking him for all of the things He has given them that show His love for them, through out the week and read their scriptures.

Close by sharing your testimony about Heavenly Father's love for each of His children.

  3. I am a working mom, Grandmother and Primary President. So I am going going going! I use your ideas all the time, because they are creative but not in a overly complicated way. I don't have a week to prepare... usually only a few hours if that to study and put together a fun activity. I am also on a very limited budget at church and at home so alot of the things some of the other sisters out there suggest is just not there for me. I just wanted to say Kim you are my go to source for great Primary stuff! Thank you as you are helping alot!!!! Please keep up what your doing because you are blessing the lives of children all over the world and one slightly scattered Primary Prez. lol.
