Family Home Evening - Back to School

Tonight's FHE I decided to focus on learning, knowledge and going back to school.  We went over our children's school and class policies with them and discussed any concerns they might have.

Here is an outline to follow:

Family Home Evening Outline for: Going back to school and learning new things.

Welcome everyone to Family Night

Sing: "Teach Me To Walk In The Light" pg 177 Children's Song Book

Discuss any family business

Scripture:  D&C 46:18 "To another is given the word of knowledge, that all may be taught to be wise and to have knowledge."

Lesson:
Read "Be Smart" by Caroline H Benzley
As a family discuss the importance of receiving a good education and doing our best at school.  Discuss school and classroom policies and being respectful to teachers and classmates.  Discuss what kind of study habits are to be expected.  Talk about how learning can be fun.
