Come, Follow Me Lesson Worksheet: Lehi's Dream Come and Partake of the Fruit of the Tree of Life

Come, Follow Me Lesson Worksheet: Lehi's Dream Come and Partake of the Fruit of the Tree of Life,

So, another late post, but I just had to share it! My hubby teaches a youth Sunday School class and I often help him when he teaches. I just found out that he is teaching again tomorrow, so I came up with the worksheet to help with our lesson.

I love, reading and learning about Lehi's dream with the Tree of Life. I love it because it directly correlates with our life!! Our plan for the lesson is to focus our discussion on the aspects of Lehi's dream.

First, we will separate the youth into five groups. Then give each group a paper (the papers will have a symbol of Lehi's dream and a scripture verse). We will then ask them to draw a picture of the symbol, as well as think about and write down what they think the symbol means.

When everyone is done we will put the pictures on the board or wall and then discuss Lehi's dream.
We will give them the worksheet, to record their thoughts as we discuss the dream.

In our discussion we will talk about each symbol, their meaning and how we can directly correlate it into our own lives.

I do love the idea of when we discuss "Desire for family and friends to partake", to use the idea in the lesson. Of having one of the youth try to convince the rest of the class to partake of a certain fruit regularly.  A quote that I found that I loved this week was, "When our minds are expanded by new knowledge, we want others to know; when our spirits are elevated by heavenly influence, we want others to feel; and when our lives are filled with goodness, we want others, particularly those whom we love, to enjoy similar experiences." (Carlos E. Asay) The gospel is something that is most precious to us, we want to share it with our friends and family, because we love them and we want them to experience the joy that we experience from the blessings of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

It is our hope in our lesson, to allow class members to share the insights that they learned in their personal and family study. As well, as help them to apply the principles of this week study into their lives!
