October Week 4 Topic: My testimony is strengthened when I share the gospel.

Preparation:

Prayerfully study and think about what the specific needs of your primary are and how you can teach them this doctrine. The most important thing is to love those you teach and to teach them by the Spirit!! Focus on building their testimonies and helping them come unto Christ! (All printables for this sharing time can be found and printed by clicking the "Free Printable Download" button. They are free and can be printed and used for personal and church purposes)

Sharing Time Instruction:

Discuss with the primary children what they learned about last week. Encourage them to share ways they served and shared the gospel with their friends and family.

Show the primary children the week's theme poster, "My testimony is strengthened when I share the gospel."

Ask the primary children, "What is a testimony?"

Read this quote, "A testimony is a spiritual witness given by the Holy Ghost." (Testimony)

Explain that as we share the gospel with others, we are bearing testimony. Giving the Holy Ghost an opportunity to give us and others the special witness that what we are saying and believe is true, strengthening our own testimonies.

Our testimony is continually growing, as we continue to learn and practice gospel principles and as we share the gospel with others.

Share the following story found in the Sharing Time Outline:

“A young girl was afraid to bear her testimony because she felt unsure of her feelings. But she knew it was important, so one day she bravely stood and bore her testimony, listing five things she believed in. When she was through, she had a good feeling and knew that her testimony had grown stronger.”

Give each of the primary children the Growing and Strengthening my Testimony printable (see free download below).

Explain that their are fundamentals to a testimony and just like the girl is in the story we can think about five things that we believe in and share those five things with others.

Some of those things might be:

Invite a primary child to come up and hold a picture of the Savior.

Have another primary child hold a picture of the Prophet Joseph Smith.

Have another primary child hold a picture of the current latter-day prophet.

Have another primary child hold a picture of the Book of Mormon (see free download).

Have another primary child hold a picture of a sign that says, "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" (see free download)

Invite the primary children to write or draw pictures on their papers of the five things that they believe to be true. If time allows invite some of the children to share their things.

Close my encouraging the primary children to go home and share their 5 things with their family and friends.
