LDS Primary Sharing Time Ideas December 2015 Week 1: Jesus Christ came to earth as promised by the prophets.

2015 Sharing Time Outline Theme: "I Know My Savior Lives"

December 2015 Sharing Time Topic: I Know That My Redeemer Lives

December 2015 Scripture: “And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives!” (D&C 76:22).

December Week 1 Topic: Jesus Christ came to earth as promised by the prophets.

Free Printables:

Preparation:

Prayerfully study and think about what the specific needs of your primary are and how you can teach them this doctrine.

Sharing Time Instruction:

Before primary, place the balloons w/tags in a container (See tag printable).

Begin sharing time by placing the balloons and some wrapped boxes on the table (hint: the wrapped boxes could be the boxes that you are going to use for week 2 sharing time).  Invite the primary children to share with you what the balloons and presents might represent.  Ask the children if they get excited when their birthday is approaching?

Explain that many years ago, people were very excited for one particular birth. There were prophets who excitedly told people that the birth of this special baby would soon come to pass. Ask the primary children if they know who this special baby was?  (Answer: The Savior, Jesus Christ)

Hold up the week theme poster and invite the primary children to recite: "Jesus Christ came to earth as promised by the prophets"

Explain to the primary children that on the balloons are examples of the promises that prophets made of the Savior's birth. Invite a primary child up to pick out a balloon. Invite the primary child to read the scripture reference (if they can't read you can read it for them). Then, for Senior Primary play a scripture chase. The first person who looks it up, gets to read the scripture and pick the next balloon. For Junior primary play a matching game.  Read the scripture for them and then let the child pick which picture would go with the scripture. Discuss each scripture as a group.

Invite the children to sing: "Samuel Tells of the Baby Jesus", Children's Songbook page 36

Close by sharing your testimony on the topic.
