Come, Follow Me 2021 Christmas "The Living Christ" Resources and Insights,

Last week, we studied the divinely inspired document, The Family: A Proclamation to the World, and what it means to us in our lives at this time.

This week, we will be discussing and studying, The Living Christ, focusing on our Savior throughout this Christmas week.

Throughout this blog post you will find images I create daily, which I am offering as free printables. As well as insights and links to resources to help with individual, family and even class room study. Remember to check back throughout the week as more printables and resources are added daily.

Day 1:

I heard this quote at a leadership training a while ago, & as I was quickly studying to sub for Seminary, this quote popped out at me in the lesson. So, we discussed it in the classes I taught today.

For me, it strengthens my testimony to know that God still speaks to His prophets. That He gives them the guidance and direction pertinent to our time. Just think of all of the policy changes which have occurred since President Nelson has been president of the church. Listen to the guidance and teachings he has given us over the years. Some of which that stands out to me is “letting God prevail in our lives”, “gathering scattered Israel” and most recently, sharing Christ’s light with others. ♥️ I love listening any time our prophet speaks. I know that he, along with the apostles are special witnesses of Christ, they are prophets, seers and revelators!

I love that this week of Christmas that we are studying “The Living Christ”. Which is a special testimony of the Lord’s prophets and apostles. I have this beautiful document hanging on the wall of our home, surrounded by images of Christ. I love my Savior so much ♥️

Here’s the link to where I got President Benson’s quote:

Day 2:

Is this not, such a powerful statement! As I have sat and pondered on it, I’ve thought about how Christ is the only one who can touch each individual on such a personal level. He, suffered for each individual, each pain, each sorrow, each sin, each illness. He felt it all, so that He could be by our side, to perfectly comfort us, strengthen us and enable us. This act of the atonement was done with perfect love. It paid the price for sin and allowed us to overcome spiritual death.

Then, our Savior, innocently, died upon the cross, giving freely of His life for us. He then rose, was resurrected, allowing us to overcome physical death, to reunite our spirits and bodies. There is no other person who could have done these things. Only Christ, our Savior, the Son of God. So yes, I fully agree with this statement given by prophets, seers & revelators, that, “no other has had so profound an influence [as Jesus Christ] upon all who have lived and will yet live upon the earth”.

What’s even more precious is that we can each have a relationship with Him. He wants us to “come unto Him”, to “hear Him” and to yoke ourselves to Him. He loves us more than we can even imagine! ♥️

Here’s a study guide that I’m planning on using this week, it has so great quotes in it:

Day 3:

I’m sure we have all heard this phrase of scripture before. When we hear it, do we believe that this scripture applies to ourselves?

As I listened to & watched the @forgottencarols tonight & as @michaelmcleanmusic spoke to us about how we all can bring our broken hearts to Christ, to be healed, & I’ve pondered on that message. I’ve just thought about how we each have broken hearts and wounds from this battle of mortality. And how Christ is the greatest physician , who can mend our broken heart and bind our wounds. It take us coming unto Him, He is just waiting and yearning to help us.

I really love and think it is so important as we read and study the scriptures to see how we can apply them into our own lives. This scripture is one that applies to all! We all are a little bit broken, a little & sometimes a lot wounded. Christ is ALWAYS there!!! ♥️♥️ It’s a message that all need to hear and feel in their hearts, is true!

Here’s the talk I studied tonight:

Day 4:

I love this quote, because it points out that our Savior chose righteousness. He had His agency, just like we have ours.

President Hunter also said, “It is important to remember that Jesus was capable of sinning, that he could have succumbed, that the plan of life and salvation could have been foiled, but that he remained true. Had there been no possibility of his yielding to the enticement of Satan, there would have been no real test, no genuine victory in the result.”

I love this, because it makes His example of righteousness that much more meaningful and important! He faced trials, he had sorrows, he even faced temptations. He overcame them, by aligning his will with Heavenly Fathers. We can choose to do so as well.

Here’s that link again to the study guide, which has this great quote:
