2017 LDS Sharing Time Ideas for April Week 2: Jesus Christ taught me the right way to live.

Ideas for April Week 2 or 3 LDS Primary Sharing Time,

2017 Sharing Time Outline Theme: Choose the Right

April 2017 Sharing Time Topic: Jesus Christ Teaches Me to Choose the Right

April 2017 Scripture: “For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you” (John 13:15)

April 2017 Song: Song of your choice about Jesus Christ from the Children’s Songbook

April Week 2 & 3 Topic: Jesus Christ taught me the right way to live.

Preparation:

Prayerfully study and think about what the specific needs of your primary are and how you can teach them this doctrine. The most important this is to love those you teach and to teach them by the Spirit!! Focus on building their testimonies and helping them come unto Christ!

Sharing Time Instruction:

Show the primary children the picture of the Savior or this one. Explain that last week they learned about how Jesus was the perfect example. Through his word and his example he taught us how to live.

Show the primary children the week's theme poster and invite them to repeat, "Jesus Christ taught me the right way to live."

Invite the primary children to sing the song, "Choose the Right Way". As the song is playing you could show pictures of the Savior. Use pictures found on lds.org or in the Gospel Art kits.

Ask the primary children what way does Jesus teach us to live? (Answer, the right way) Ask them what happens when we choose the right way? (Answer, we will be happy)

Show the primary children the "Right Way" sign, the road, and the happy sign.

Place them on the board as shown above.

Explain that as we follow the Saviors teachings and choose the right way to live, then we will have happiness.

Have 4 bags in the front of the classroom. In the bags place the picture/scripture card. (See the Free Download button below) Invite a primary child to come up and choose one of the bags. Open it and then read what the scripture says.

Invite the primary children to tell you what Jesus taught us. Explain that each of the things he taught us are found in the song, "Choose the Right Way".  Discus as a primary how we can do what Jesus taught and how choosing to do it will make us happy. Invite all of the children to stand up and do a simple action, to help them remember what Jesus taught. (See examples below)

Place the picture/scripture card on the road leading to happiness.

Continue with each sack/teaching.

When you have discussed each one, sing the song, "Choose the Right Way" again. But this time have them do the action on each of the teachings.

Close by sharing your testimony on choosing the right way to live.

Scripture, the Teaching, How we can live it & an Action to Remember it:

Matthew 7:7: Prayerful- Example: We can pray to our Heavenly Father daily! Thanking him for the things He has given us and asking Him for the righteous things we need. How this makes us happy: Doesn't it make you happy to know that you are a child of God, that you have a Heavenly Father that you can talk to, anywhere at anytime. That he is always listening and will answer your prayers. Action: Fold your arms, bow your head and close your eyes

D&C 6:36: Faith- Example: When we have faith we are believing in things we can't see, but we know to be true. We can have faith in Jesus Christ. That he provided a way for us to repent, was an example of how to live and that he will come again. We show our faith as we live the gospel everyday. How this makes us happy: Having faith in the Savior brings us hope. Having hope and doing what's right brings happiness into our lives. Action: Form circles with your hands (like glasses) and put them up to your eyes, then break them apart with hands out. Showing that faith is believing without seeing.

D&C 58:42: Repent - Example: We can daily repent of the things we do wrong and try to be better each day. How this make us happy: As we repent the weight of that sin is taken away. We are free from that sin and can be happy in knowing we are doing what's right. Action: Make a motion as if you are erasing something off of a board. Showing that as we repent we will be forgiven and the sin will be erased.

John 14:15: Obey- Example: We can choose each day to be obedient to God's commandments. How this makes us happy: Just as the song state, when we choose the right way, we will be happy. We will have a clear conscience and know that we are showing love towards God and Jesus. Action: You could point to your ear for listen and then make a walking action. Showing that we obey when we listen and do what is asked or commanded of us.

    1. Nope, it's still there. Sometimes if there is a high volume of people trying to download it at once then there is an issue. Try it again. Let me know if you have issues and I can email it to you. Also, it usually works best from a computer.
