January Week 3 Topic: Heavenly Father’s plan is a plan of happiness.

Preparation:

Prayerfully study and think about what the specific needs of your primary are and how you can teach them this doctrine. The most important thing is to love those you teach and to teach them by the Spirit!! Focus on building their testimonies and helping them come unto Christ!  (All printables for this sharing time can be found and printed by clicking the "Free Printable Download" button. They are free and can be printed and used for personal and church purposes)

Sharing Time Instruction:

Week 2 and Week 3 are the same topic. Click here to view week 2 Sharing time ideas.

Week 3 ideas:

For Week 2 we focused on explaining what Heavenly Father's plan is. For Week 3 the focus is going to be more on how Heavenly Father's plan is the plan of Happiness.

Begin Sharing time by explaining the Heavenly Father wants nothing more then for us to be Happy!!  That is why his plan is called the Plan of Happiness. Show the primary children the week's theme poster again.

Explain that we are going to play a little game about the Plan of Happiness and how it can help us be happy. In the game the primary children will come up and draw a card. On the card is something in Heavenly Father's plan that will help us to be happy. They will draw a picture of that thing on the board as the rest of the primary children guess what it is. (For the younger primary children pair them up with an older child or a teacher)

When the drawing is guessed, discuss with the primary children how it will make us happy.

Invite another primary child to come up and choose another card and continue the game.

Continue until you are finished with the cards or time runs out.

Close by sharing your testimony and inviting the primary children to think throughout the week about Heavenly Father's plan and how following it can make us happy.

Ideas for the drawing/guessing game: (See free download)

Families: Heavenly's Father's plan includes families. Families can help us follow Heavenly Father's plan. We love our family and they make us happy.

Keeping the Commandments: The commandments keep us safe. When we follow them we have peace and happiness.

Baptism: When we are baptized we become a member of Christ's church, we take his name upon us and promise to keep his commandments. These things bring us happiness.

Confirmation: When we are confirmed we receive the Holy Ghost. They Holy Ghost makes us happy. He directs us, helps us to know what's right and wrong, warns us and brings us comfort.

Temple: Receiving ordinances in the temple is part of our Heavenly Father's plan. The temples and the ordinances make us happy.

Celestial Kingdom: God's plan is that we return to live with him eternally. This will bring us the most happiness.

Scriptures: The scriptures help us to understand Heavenly Father's plan and commandments. As we read them we will be happy.

Come to Earth: We knew that coming to Earth would make us happy. Because we would gain bodies, experience mortality and become more like our Heavenly Father.

  1. Hey, just thought you'd like to know, your links don't seem updating on your 'january' site. Only week one shows, and I found this page through the other links at the bottom of week one. You do excellent stuff, I always read through the manual and yours for ideas before I plan my lesson, so I was missing it and decided to do a bit of digging.
