Sharing Time Ideas for 2017

One of my favorite and most viewed posts are my Primary Sharing Time ideas. I loved serving in the Primary presidency and teaching the amazing primary children during Sharing Time! I've relied on my 15+ years of serving in primary to come up with my ideas as well as prayer and inspiration. I hope you will be able to find ideas on here that can help your primary children learn the gospel topics and draw closer to their Heavenly Father and Savior.

I am going away in April and so I am eagerly waiting for your April ideas so I can have them all prepared for whomever will take sharing time while I'm away so I'll just wait patiently for you to post April - no hurry at all... but I just wanted you to know that the kids love your ideas and I am grateful for your hard work that helps me expand on the church sharing time outline.

  17. I know it's super early but our primary program is at the end of September and so I'm thinking we need to write it now to get it approved and then start working/ practicing in august. Got any ideas for a super tiny primary (like 18 kids total in Jr. and Sr. primary)?? Thanks in advance!!

    1. When I write the primary program I like to go through and put the topic from each month and then make questions that go with each of the week's topics. Then I go through and insert the songs that the kids have been practicing throughout the year. For a primary of 18 kiddos, you could have the senior primary children share a little bit longer parts & you could have a lot of fun with the songs/musical numbers. Really, the best programs I have been involved with are when I come up with questions and have the children write their actual parts. And when we allow the primary children to really shine their musical talents. We have had them sign verses of songs, sing them in other languages and had primary children play their instruments such as violin, harp and cello. If you'd like an idea of the program from last year, I could email it to you.

    1. Thanks so much!! One thing I liked to do is have each member of the presidency bring a gift bag with 5 things about them in it. Then during sharing time, each takes a turn sharing with the primary kids the five things. For example I brought a picture of my family, a drawing of Christ I did, a box of my favorite candy, gardening gloves, and a little 4 wheeler toy (to represent that I love the outdoors). The kids thought it was neat to learn more about us. Good luck! Serving as Primary President is a very special calling! :)

    1. Hey Allison, Which sharing time idea are you looking at. On each of my sharing times I have a Free Download button towards the bottom of the post. You can select which pages your'd like to print. If you are looking to print the pictures from lds.org. I provide a link for them, that you can go there and download and print them. Let me know what other questions you have. And best wishes in your calling!!
