Relief Society Visiting Teaching Message Ideas for July 2017: That They May Be One

Relief Society Visiting Teaching Message Ideas for July 2017:

My Thoughts:

What a beautiful message this is for the month of July! I've been thinking about how easy it is to become so distracted in this world of what our purpose truly is.

There is so much going on, so much that at times it may feel so overwhelming trying to fit it all in. The adversary is great at keeping us distracted and focused on the things of the world.

How do we keep focus?? How do we truly strive to be one with our Father and Savior?  I look at the Savior for this example. His life was an exemplary one of being one with the Father. His will was completely submitted to his Father's.

Elder Dallin H. Oaks had a great conference talk, where he spoke of the Good, Better and Best. There are many things that are good in our life. Things that are worthwhile that we can spend our time doing.

There are also better things that we could be doing with our time and then there are the Best! Those best things are the things that are aligned with our Heavenly Father's will.

Those best things would definitely include studying our scriptures that we might know His will and guidance for us. They would include praying to our Heavenly Father sincerely each day. As well as spending quality time with our Family in Family Home Evenings.

They would also include the sacred responsibility we have each week of attending our church meeting and partaking of the sacred ordinance of the sacrament, to renew our baptismal covenants with Him.

It would most surely included spending time in the Temple and on Family History work. This one for me is one that I know is so important and I feel that desire, and feel the guilt of not making it a higher priority.

We will have things in our lives that we will recognize that are the will of our Father's that we are not doing, or not devoting as much time or effort toward as our Father would desire us to.

This is when the atonement comes in, we are never stuck in the rut of our ways, we can turn to the Savior and allow him to help us out and make the best decisions with our time.

I love this quote from Sister Marriott, "I have struggled to banish the mortal desire to have things my way, eventually realizing that my way is oh so lacking, limited, and inferior to the way of Jesus Christ. ‘His way is the path that leads to happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come’"

I know that this is true! Our Father in Heaven sees the whole picture, He truly does know what is best for us, we need to trust in Him and in His beloved Son!

Sometimes it's fun to give our sisters something when we go and visit them! Here are some ideas:

Attach the following to a drink:

Focus on Being One with the Savior tag (see download below)
Straw Arrow (Straw & then attached a triangle piece of scrapbook paper onto the straw with tape & make the tale of the arrow & also attach it with tape) Attach the arrow to the printable with tape.

I hope these ideas have been helpful. Really the most important thing is that your sisters know you care about them, that you are their friend :) If you'd like more Visiting Teaching Ideas follow my Visiting Teaching Pinterest Board
