Family Home Evening Easter Kickoff!!

I love to have a little something each day of the week leading up to Easter, to help my family focus on the Savior.  Here's the plan for this year:

For tonight's Family Home Evening the topic in which I have chosen is:

Easter Kickoff: Seven days focused on the Savior

Preparation: I hope and pray that you can use these ideas as a guideline and adjust them to the needs of your own specific family.  Our prophet, President Monson says, "We cannot afford to neglect this heaven-inspired program. It can bring spiritual growth to each member of the family, helping him or her to withstand the temptations which are everywhere. The lessons learned in the home are those that last the longest. On Lds.org there are resources available in helping to make your Family Home Evenings successful, here is a link to that site on Family Home Evenings.

Invite a member of the family member say the prayer

Sing: "He Sent His Son", Children's Songbook Page 34

Discuss any family business

Follow-up with last weeks FHE.

Family Home Evening Instruction:

Monday: Day 1
Ask your family if they like to receive gifts?  Explain that our Heavenly Father gave us the greatest of all gifts.  This gift was essential for eternal progression.  This gift allows us to overcome sin and sorrow. To be strengthened and provide us with the enabling power to overcome our inadequacies and be better.  It would cleanse us from our sins. As well as provide a way for us to overcome both spiritual and physical death.  This great gift is the gift of our Heavenly Father's only begotten son, Jesus Christ.

Explain that throughout this week leading up to Easter that the family will be focusing on the Savior.  Today the focus will be on the prophecies of Jesus Christ.

Explain to your family that before Christ was born, many prophets prophesied of Him. One of such prophets was Isaiah. Isaiah, was a prophet in Jerusalem form 740-701 BC.

After the video invite your family to share their thoughts.  Ask if hearing about the prophecies of a prophet, who lived so many years before the Savior's birth, helps to strengthen their testimony of the Savior?
